TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
LAB EXPERIENCE
Through my education I have had numerous opportunities to take part in and conduct laboratory experiments such as VO2 max, sweat, and EMG analysis.

Sweat Analysis Lab: Cycle for 30 mins at 150 watts of resistance to collect a sweat sample which which can be analysed in a chemistry lab.
Participant in Various EMG Tests: Electromyography is a technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles
COMPETITION EXPERIENCE
I have competed in a variety of sports placing in the top percentile in the strength sports. These sports include Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting, Crossfit, Roller Derby, Track and Field, Hockey, Soccer, and Gymnastics.

Track and Field Regionals: Preforming the Hammer Throw, I qualified for Provincials at this meet.

Olympic Weightlifting Provincials: In this photo I am preforming a clean and jerk. I totaled 361lbs/164kgs at this meet and placed first in the Junior category.
My First Powerlifting Meet: In this photo I am deadlifting 440lbs, at this meet I broke all Provincial records, and became the number 1 athlete in my age category across Canada.

Roller Derby: In this picture I am acting as the "Jammer" the person who passes the opposing team members to gain points.

Crossfit Workout: A HERO workout at Vic City Crossfit consisting of cleans and handstand walks.

45lb Weighted Hang: I participated in my own study to determine the optimal qualities to be a climber as I do not climb a high grade I could deduct that whatever others performed better in was the attribute of interest. Other tests included: Flexibility, 1RM hamstring curl, 1RM weighted pull-up, hollow-rock hold, and max meters in 1 minute on the ski erg.
TEST BATTERY ADMINISTRATION & PARTICIPATION
I have run a variety of tests on a variety of participants such as the UVic Varsity Women's Soccer team for the 30-15, 40 meter time, and vertical jump height. In addition, I regularly perform force velocity testing on the UVic Varsity teams using the Tendo barbell attachment. I have created and run a test battery on climbers to determine the required physical qualities to be a great climber. Lastly, I created and ran an experiment measuring EMG of the medial gastrocnemius of athletic students to measure the change in power following dynamic and passive stretching.

Measurement of Muscle Force Following Two Stretching Conditions:
I would lead participants up for their baseline test without any stretching conditions, the participant would then use the barbell in the high-bar back squat position to planter flex their ankles into the safeties to create a maximum voluntary isometric contraction. Following this participants would do a dynamic stretch and a static stretch with a maximum voluntary contraction following each stretch condition.

RESEARCH
Research conducted includes: Directed studies project on rotator cuff injuries care and prevention, a coaching guide for Olympic Weightlifting, Comparison of Alternative Rehabilitative Modalities for Stroke Patients,
Sweat Analysis, Testing Results as seen above, in addition to a variety of assignments throughout my education.
Conference Poster: Poster describes research on rehabilitative modalities and order of treatments for stroke patients.
